Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is for the use of any mobile, online, desktop, or cloud-based service developed and maintained by My Glass. This document explains My Glass’s policies for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

The internet has changed the way we live and operate as it has become our fundamental tool and resource we use daily. We carry out payments and transactions, use our search engines to look up information, keep up-to-date with our friends and family and follow local and international news.

My Glass sees the importance in ensuring that our users retain their privacy whilst taking the advantage of all the services and features we offer. We understand that your privacy is important to you, which in turn makes it even more important to us. With that being said, we will protect the information you share with us. 

Protecting your information is achieved by following stringent procedures and policies that are in accordance with global standards and practices for customer information privacy and the protection of information. 

Collection of information 

My Glass will, from time to time, ask you for your personal information. We collect information using different methods depending on the application/service you are using and this also includes information provided by our providers/partners. When you register to use our services we may ask for personal information, this can include information such as Your Email Address, ID Number, Gender etc. Concerning credit card/debit card information, your data will be processed and stored with our payment service providers who have their own privacy policies. 

Protecting Your Information 

My Glass make use of and implement a host of security measures to ensure that your information is protected at all times. We enforce policies and procedures to ensure the safety of your information which are in line with the Protection Of Private Information (POPI) Act. 

Location Information

Certain My Glass applications are intended solely for use by authorised My Glass employees and are not available for general public use.

Where required for the operation of these applications, My Glass may collect device location information, including precise location information where necessary. Location information may be collected while the application is in use and, where the employee has enabled the relevant functionality and granted the required device permissions, in the background, including when the application is closed or not actively in use.

Location information may be used to support authorised My Glass business activities, including tracking work-related technician movements and routes, assisting with the allocation and scheduling of work based on location, supporting employee and team safety, confirming attendance or progress at work locations, and supporting location-based job or service status functionality.

Location information is collected only where required for the relevant application functionality and is accessible only to authorised My Glass personnel who require access for operational, administrative, security or support purposes.

My Glass does not sell location information and does not use location information for advertising or unrelated analytics purposes. Location information may be processed by trusted service providers acting on behalf of My Glass where required to provide services such as application hosting, data storage, mapping, infrastructure or technical support. Such service providers are required to process the information only for the purposes for which it has been provided and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements. Location information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law or a valid legal request.

My Glass applies appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect location information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss. Location information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable legal, regulatory or business record-keeping requirements, after which it will be deleted or anonymised in accordance with My Glass’s data retention practices.

Users may withdraw or change location permissions through their device settings. Disabling location permissions may prevent certain location-dependent application functionality from operating correctly.

External / Third-Party Links 

My Glass will occasionally, at their discretion, include or offer external products or services on/within our applications and solutions. These external parties, partners, or providers have independent privacy policies. It is for this reason that we take no responsibility or liability for the content, activity, or services of these linked sites, We do, however, aim to protect the integrity of our sites and applications and therefore welcome any feedback about any of these third-party or external sites/services. 

Disclosing information to third parties 

My Glass does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our applications, conducting our business, or maintaining the high level of service we provide to you; so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. 

Scope of policy 

This policy is an online policy and applies only to information that we collect through online methods and not to information that we collect offline. 

Consent 

By making use of our applications/services you consent to this privacy policy. 

Changes / Amendments 

My Glass will, at times, change this policy and post the latest version of this policy on our website: www.myglass.co.za. This policy was last modified on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
